Helpless love

Once upon a time all feelings and emotions went to a coastal island for a vacation. According to their nature, each was having a good time. Suddenly, a warning of an impending storm was announced and everyone was advised to evacuate the island.

The announcement caused sudden panic. All rushed to their boats. Even damaged boats were quickly repaired and commissioned for duty.

Yet, Love did not wish to flee quickly. There was so much to do. But as the clouds darkened, Love realised it was time to leave. Alas, there were no boats to spare. Love looked around with hope.

Just then Prosperity passed by in a luxurious boat. Love shouted, "Prosperity, could you please take me in your boat?"

"No," replied Prosperity, "my boat is full of precious possessions, gold and silver. There is no place for you."

A little later Vanity came by in a beautiful boat. Again Love shouted, "Could you help me, Vanity? I am stranded and need a lift. Please take me with you."

Vanity responded haughtily, "No, I cannot take you with me. My boat will get soiled with your muddy feet."

Sorrow passed by after some time. Again, Love asked for help. But it was to no avail. "No, I cannot take you with me. I am so sad. I want to be by myself."

When Happiness passed by a few minutes later, Love again called for help. But Happiness was so happy that it did not look around, hardly concerned about anyone.

Love was growing restless and dejected. Just then somebody called out, "Come Love, I will take you with me." Love did not know who was being so magnanimous, but jumped on to the boat, greatly relieved that she would reach a safe place.

On getting off the boat, Love met Knowledge. Puzzled, Love inquired, "Knowledge, do you know who so generously gave me a lift just when no one else wished to help?"

Knowledge smiled, "Oh, that was Time."

"And why would Time stop to pick me and take me to safety?" Love wondered.

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and replied, "Because only Time knows your true greatness and what you are capable of. Only Love can bring peace and great happiness in this world."

"The important message is that when we are prosperous, we overlook love. When we feel important, we forget love. Even in happiness and sorrow we forget love. Only with time do we realize the importance of love. Why wait that long? Why not make love a part of your life today?"

The kindness

Once upon a time a man who died and left an old woman, his wife. The woman went away to live with her son, the wife of this one and their daughter. Every day, the old woman was losing seen and heard. Sometimes the hands shook to him as much that the peas to the ground fell to him and the soup slipped off the plate. To his son and his daughter-in-law annoyed with her for all that one disorder and a day they said is enough. They prepared a small table in a corner for the old woman and she ate there. She watched them with tears in her eyes from the other corner of the dining room, but they almost didn´t speak to her during the meals.

One day before dinner, the daughter was seated in the ground playing with construction blocks. " What you are doing? " , his father asked to him. " I construct a small table for you and mama" , the girl said. " The day of tomorrow, when I´ll be an adult you will be able to eat in a corner."

The father and the mother kept in a deep silence during a while, and soon they lay down to cry. They had become conscious of the nature of its acts and the pain that they had caused. That one night they caused that the old woman occupied her site in the great table of dining room again, and from then it always ate with the rest of the family.

The worried mouse

Once upon a time there was a mouse that always was distressed because it was scared of the cat.

A magician felt sorry itself of him he turned him into a cat. But then it began to feel fear of the dog.

So that it turned it to the magician into dog. Soon it began to feel fear of the panther, and it turned it to the magician into panther.

Consequently it began to fear the hunter.

Arrived at this point the magician one occurred by won and it returned to turn it into mouse, being said to him: "Nothing than does by you is going to serve you as aid, because you will always have the heart of mouse".

A moral tale from the airlines

As we know, we see discrimination in some form or another almost everyday and often times it leaves a sour taste in our mouths.

The following story shows us the side of diversity that we are all working for. It is a pleasant twist to see that there are companies and individuals who face discrimination head on, if only one small step at a time - but still enforce the right for every human being regardless of race, colour, creed or religion to have equality in life. Enjoy reading the positive side of diversity. I applaud British Airways for their action in this situation on a British Airways flight from Johannesburg, it shows there really are good honest people in this world.

A middle-aged, well-off white South African Lady has found herself sitting next to a black man. She called the cabin crew attendant over to complain about her seating: "What seems to be the problem Madam?" asked the attendant. "Can't you see?" she said." You've sat me next to a kaffir. I can't possibly sit next to this disgusting human. Find me another seat!".

"Please calm down Madam" the stewardess replied. "The flight is very full today, but I'll tell you what I'll do - I'll go and check to see if we have any seats available in club or first class".

The woman cocks a snooty look at the outraged black man beside her (not to mention many of the surrounding passengers). A few minutes later the stewardess returns with the good news, which she delivers to the lady, who cannot help but look at the people around her with a smug and self satisfied grin: "Madam, unfortunately, as I suspected, economy is full. I've spoken to the cabin services director, and club is also full.However, we do have one very nice seat in first class".

Before the lady has a chance to answer, the stewardess continues: "It is most extraordinary to make this kind of upgrade, however, I have had to get special permission from the captain. But, given the circumstances, the captain felt that it was outrageous that someone be forced to sit next to such an obnoxious and uneducated person therefore he has given his full approval for such a seat change to occur".

With which, the stewardess turned to the black man sitting next to the woman, and said: "So if you'd like to get your things, Sir, I have your new seat ready for you..." At which point, apparently the surrounding passengers stood and gave a standing ovation while the black guy walks proudly up to the front of the plane.

People will forget what you said....

but people will never forget how you made them feel.
